Mashrufa Alam & Abu M.Z. Alam Bangladesh Student Scholarship

Created and funded by the generosity of Mashrufa Alam and Abu M.Z. Alam, this scholarship supports new students to MassBay who are declaring a major or certificate in: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Technology, Nursing, Physician Assistant, Laboratory Technician, or other applied Science subjects. This scholarship is for students from Bangladesh or of Bangladeshi decent.


  • Students must be from Bangladesh or of Bangladeshi descent
  • Enrolled in a minimum of 12 credits in college level classes
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 from high school
  • 250-300 word essay explaining how character and hard work will help you achieve your goals

AWARD: $3,500 per semester for two consecutive semesters at MassBay. The recipient must be enrolled in 12 college level credits and maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA to receive the second semester award. Funding for the second semester award is pending and not guaranteed.
